Tiny Tap games about endangered species

As part of the work for the final term, our 1º ESO students have created educational games for children using Tiny Tap.

In groups, our students have chosen an endangered species and have designed interactive games about different animals, including aspects such as their habitats, characteristics, diet, and also the reasons why they are in danger and what can be done to save them.

There are links on the 1º ESO tab at the top of the page.

We hope you enjoy playing these games as much as our students have enjoyed making them!

Creative poetry project

This year, our 1º Bachillerato (A) students have been challenged with classic poetry. They've had to adapt the topics from three poems, written by Edmund Spenser (1552-1599), William Shakespeare (1564-1616) and Lord Byron (1788-1824), to modern-day situations.

We invite you to check out their work- click on the 1º Bachillerato tab at the top of the page.

Thank you!

A tutorial using Snapguide

We have used the app Snapguide to create mini-tutorials. The objective of this mini-project was to practise conditional structures to talk about usual consequences.
We invite you to check them out! Links are provided in the 1º ESO section on the tabs bar.

We have been practising questions in 1º ESO, so the students have written short interviews with famous people (real and invented!).

The students have recorded their interviews using Spreaker Studio. You can listen to them on the 1º ESO tab (at the top).

Horror stories set in Colegio Base

This year, just like last year, our 4º ESO students have written horror stories set in Colegio Base. Just like last year, the results are horrifying and unsettling, and they showcase our budding authors' talents! Who knows- we might have a future Stephen King among our students!

Click here to visit the blog where the stories are published.

I hope you enjoy reading the stories as much as our students enjoyed writing them!

Chinese Whispers

We have taken part in the El teléfono escacharrado collaborative project in 4º ESO. This project works a bit like the children's game Chinese Whispers, in which the original message is passed on from child to child in such a way that the final message might have very little to do with the original message. You can check the project website here.

This project is the brainchild of our Art teacher Ana Rico. She read a short poem to her 4º ESO students and they made it into pictures. These pictures were transformed by a our 1º ESO students, and the 3º ESO groups used GeoGebra to transform them even more. This is where we came in. We took the GeoGebra pictures and transformed them into concrete poems.

It's not been easy. Understanding an image and turning it into a poem can be quite challenging; the next step (taking the main idea from the poem and arranging the words into a recognisable shape) took imagination and skill. The end result? Here you have it...

I hope you enjoyed it! Thanks for checking in!
